You better recognize! (Your story, that is.)

The past is this strange thing that we like to look back on and live through again.

And again.

And again.

And so what happened in our past continues to make an appearance in our present, again.

And again.

And again.

Especially if the story of our past is one of hurt, loss, heartache, insecurity, judgement, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, etc., etc., etc. That pain is what we know. That pain is familiar.

That pain is the bullshit story we keep telling ourselves. And that is the story that rears its known, familiar head any time we begin to take ownership, any time we begin to do something differently than we have in the past, anytime we are at peace in our lives and, dare I say it, HAPPY.

That story returns.

And it returns because of all stupid things, we’re comfortable feeling bad.

(I’ll let that sink in.)

We are COMFORTABLE feeling bad.

Why???

Ready or not, it’s time to rock the uncomfortable vibe.

You’ve heard the saying, “If you do what you’ve always done you’ll get what you’ve always got.” Yes?

Do we make the same mistakes over and over and over again until we learn from them and change our behavior? Perhaps. Hopefully. And hopefully we have a short learning curve.

Like the idea of, “Try, try again. And then quit. There’s no sense in being a fool about it.” HA.

But it’s HARD to change behaviors. It’s completely uncomfortable. New. Unknown. It’s work. It’s taking a risk. It’s BELIEVING in yourself.

Holy shit. There’s an idea.
